Earlier this week we got to sneak into my dad's office for one last ultrasound. I love these extra peeks. It is such a treat (and almost makes up for all the teasing I had to endure in junior high about my dad being an ob/gyn.) We got to see the heartbeat early for both girls (such a big relief both times) and did an early gender peek this time around. We only do a couple of official ultrasounds through my doc and, while great, they are definitely all business. So these extra visits are just fun. No measurements, no checklists of body parts to inventory, just watching her play. The babe, while getting big, is still small enough that there is plenty of fluid to see her well. And the 4D ultrasound - incredible (but also a little creepy). We saw her face, not just the profile, but her actual features. She's dramatic, just like her big sister with at least one hand on her forehead or at her chin at all times. We saw her stick her tongue out, open her eyes, suck on her hand, swallow, and we even saw her suck on her toes (a first for the ultrasound tech). Then we saw her smile and fell even more in love with this little person. She still needs some time to cook a little more and we have plenty to do to prepare for her arrival but man are we excited to meet this one.

I said I was going to be better about taking pictures of the growing belly this time around. But I've been worse, much worse. Here's 31 weeks in all its glory.
