Are you looking at my belly?

Doggy date

Our friends and now neighbors, Mark and Heidi, came over for dinner this week. While we ate awesome crab cakes and caught up, Coop and her new boyfriend, Ferdinand, spent some quality time in the back yard. They wrestled and ran in circles for a good couple of hours. I think it was true love.

Wonder Woman

If I could I would dress Sloane in this shirt every single day.

Finally filling the walls

We've lived here a year and are finally getting around to putting up some more permanent pieces on the walls. Better late than never. But I'm picky and not willing to spend an arm and a leg which is not an easy combo. Luckily, I found this bad boy last week:

And my hugely talented husband was able to build this frame in no time:

10 months

I blinked and our little buttercup is now 10 months old. I think about the sometimes cheesy things we hear and say every day, and realize that it's all true. I never imagined just how much I could love my girl...Sloane is growing up so incredibly fast...it gets more and more fun every day...seriously, just when I think she couldn't be more awesome, she breaks out some new skill or gives me the sweetest giggle...being Sloane's mama is rad. I'm not a big fan of the cheese, but I've also come to realize that it's inevitable so I'll just take all of those annoying (but true) clichés and wrap them up in one big smooch for this gal.

There is a lot happening at the 10 month mark. Sloane's top 4 teeth are coming in. The front two have poked through and the others are on the verge. There's been some additional drooling and some fussing, but it hasn't been too bad. She's moving like crazy, still doing the army crawl that is so funny. She definitely wants her mom and dad around. If we walk out of her sight she lets us know she's not pleased. It's annoying, but also flattering. The girl still loves to wave, at EVERYTHING. It cracks me up. We were really progressing on our clapping, then I went away for a few days and all of our good work was lost. Way to go, dad. Her hair is starting to come in. Most of the time I still think she doesn't have a ton of hair then I see an old picture of baldy and realize how luscious those locks are these days. Sloane's eating a ton of new foods. She still likes the pureed fruits, but now refuses most of the pureed veggies and anything with meat in it, which I don't blame because those smell like cat food. She loves yogurt, pasta, ritz crackers, and cheese. Sloane loves other kiddos and continues to rock her daycare. The older kids always tell me how funny she thinks they are. I don't tell them that she's a really easy audience. Each day is more fun than the last and we are so lucky that this gal is ours.

Happy 10 months, Sloane! We love ya!

Chug, chug, chug

I wonder if she'll be a KD.

Uncle JJ's here

My brother was in town last weekend for a friend's wedding so we got to spend lots of fun time with the Morell clan. We started with lunch at Red Robin on Friday (Mayson's choice) where Nikka spent much of the time convincing May that she needed to keep her shirt on. Swedish pancakes at Matt and Nikka's the next morning. Yum.

I missed you JJ!

Jared requested an afternoon buffet on Sunday. We obliged with quite the spread and tried to keep the kiddos quiet while he nursed his hangover.

Mama in the big city

I was in NYC last week for work. It was a great trip and I love the big apple, but I missed my girl, Juan Puerto, and Coop. John once again was my hero. He not only kept our daughter alive but managed to do laundry, keep the house relatively clean, and send me photos of our smiley girl throughout my trip. Sloane spent the days at camp grandma and grandpa....kicking it with grandma and papa the first half of the week and with mimi the second. Lucky gal.

Lots of photos sent via text of Sloane's adventures with daddy. What did we do before smartphones?
