Sloane had her first dinner over at the Kimbler's this week. As always, a fun evening with these two.
Mike was brave enough to put on Sloane's pj's. Don't feel bad for him, I promise the look on Sloane's face only lasted for a second and she was all smiles after that.
What the hell is going on? Did we do something wrong? Were we looking too rested? Do you think you're missing some sort of 2 am party every night? Maybe it's because you knew that I've been bragging about you sleeping through the night since you were 8 weeks old. Do you feel bad for the jealous new parents and want to put me in my place? Is that why you've decided to wake up at least 4 or 5 times a night for the past week? I'm sorry...whatever I did. I promise to keep my mouth shut from here on out when others ask how you are sleeping. Believe me when I tell you that you aren't missing out...we are snoozing away at 2 am, not having a dance party in the living room. So how about we return to that luxurious sleep schedule...sound good?
Sloane is a total daddy's girl. She saves the biggest smiles and the loudest laughs for her dad. She can just sit and stare at John forever. I'll admit I get a little jealous sometimes. I mean, come on, I'm the food source here. Shouldn't that automatically put me in the #1 slot? On the other hand, I totally get it. I'm pretty smitten with him too.
At least that's what members of team Angry Pirates are proving at our Wednesday night bowling league. You'd think this would be a post about strikes, spares, and gutter balls but, no, we like to spend our time at Imperial Lanes focused on this guy....
Yep, that's a claw machine. The one where you waste money trying to get an unwilling claw to pick up cheap, very cheap, stuffed animals. The team received the "player of the week" honor of the first week not for our prowess on the lanes, but because the AP's robbed the claw of 6 really weird toys. John and I were unable to make that first round, so you can bet I showed up the next week with a few extra $1's in my wallet. The result? A measly two toys from our group. But don't worry, we came back strong with ten, yes 10, nice pulls last night. All stuffed animals...no Elvis license plates this time. Player of the week goes to tall guy Brian for his incredible skill....6 of the pulls were his. Robbie, John and I did our best to contribute. Nicole and Nicki spent the whole time laughing at us. Oh...and I managed to bowl a 128 last night...which isn't bad considering my concentration was definitely elsewhere.
Sloane is a total hit at daycare. I get daily reports from the kiddos about how much she laughed and how little she cried. As I walk by the windows when I come to pick her up and hear them yell, "Sloane's mom is here," it makes me smile. I am someone's mom. John Poort is a dad. Crazy. We are smitten. We are head over heels in love. We are diggin this whole family thing.
Oh yeah, and she's huge! Sloane's four month stats:
Weight: 16 lbs 11 oz (97%)
Height: 25 3/4 inches (95%)
Noggin: 41 1/2 cm (75%)
