Girls Weekend in Bozeman

Nicole, Nicki, Andrea, and I hopped on a plane to visit miss Jenny and her fam.  It was so fun to get a taste of Jen's new life in Bozeman.  We miss having our friend here but can see just how much life in Montana suits her.

Our flight got in about 11 pm on Thursday night then we stayed up until the wee hours catching up.  We were pretty proud of ourselves as it was way past our usual bedtime.  Proof, once again, that we are old.  On Friday Jen took us to a very cute coffee place near her house for an awesome breakfast then for a tour around town.  We stopped by her friend's little gourmet grocery for their "sip and dip" event (and all bought a bunch of delicious things), met up with Nick for a quick lunch, then met up with our friend Ali for a glorious afternoon at the spa.  After massages, facials, pedicures, and chats in the steam room we headed back to Jen's to get ready for our big night out on the town.  Drinks at a martini/wine bar then dinner out.  We were home by about 10:30 - happy to crawl into bed.  Old ladies.

My dreams came true and we woke up to snow on Saturday - yahoo!  We poured ourselves some hot cocoa to go then headed to main street to hit the shops and enjoy the snow.  We ended our excursion with a stop at a local bar to meet up with Ali and watch part of the Bobcat game.  At one point Nicki jokingly said, "We're cheering for the Grizzlies (the Bobcats rival), right?" and almost got escorted out of the bar.  They take their football seriously.

While the snow continued to fall that evening we snuggled into Jen's house for our annual "favorite things" gift exchange. We turned on the Christmas tunes, drank out of red mugs, made a delicious dinner, showered our friends with our favorite things, then snuggled up on the couch to watch Love Actually. An all around perfect evening with my best girls.

The view from Jen's front yard is not too shabby.

Our favorite things this year:
Jenny: Balsamic glaze and flavored salts
Nicole: Vinturi wine aerator
Nicki: West Elm blankets
Andrea: Stinky, but delicious, cheese and rainforest crisps
Kelly: Hooded scarves, Zattarains, and sparkling cranberry juice

Kudos to Nicki "the spreadsheet master" Wolfert for tracking our annual giving tradition.  She takes her task seriously - each year lists the gifts given, where it took place, what the dinner menu was, if the boys were invited, and its even color coded red and green.

On Sunday we got some playtime with these two munchkins.  Love Tay Tay and Miss Maddy.  What great sisters.
Then it was time to head home. I was missing my little munchkin and her dad like crazy, but leaving our warm little friendship bubble was so sad. Love, love, love you girls.
