Poort Family: 5 months

5 months, Hazy girl! This was definitely my favorite month so far because we got to see more and more of YOU each day. It is so fun to see your personality develop especially because you are one happy, chill baby.

You smile and laugh constantly. I love love love your giggle. You roll. All the time. Mostly from your back to your front (both left and right) but only occasionally from your front to you back. You roll over and immediately pop your head up with big grin to say, "see - look at me!" You have officially become a tummy or side sleeper. I can put you down on your back fast asleep and you are on your tummy or curled up on your side snoring away again in minutes.

You were introduced to the jumperoo this month and love it. You aren't jumping a ton yet but love to play with all of the bells and whistles. Your sister will often bring her little chair over right next to you to chat, read a story, or show you how to work all of the toys. She also claims the bouncy station as her own on a semi regular basis.

You go through a ton of bibs and onesies everyday with your drool. I didn't know it was possibly for one person to make that much saliva in a day. Everything you can grab goes directly into your mouth. No teeth yet.

You reach to grab anything in reach and you have an incredibly strong grip. You love to grab the skin at the edge of my armpit when nursing and it freaking hurts. I love to watch your little eyes cross as you triuphantly lift something up in front of your face.

We got you a tub seat and now you get most of your baths in the tub with sissy. You both think it is pretty cool. Your sister wants to hold you all of the time. She's actually gotten pretty good about supporting you and will hold you for a couple of minutes (which is an eternity in toddler land). We still see the fear in your eyes when you are in her arms and are always right there. Don't worry, kid.

Miss Sloane loves you. The first thing she asks to do when she wakes in the morning is see you. She loves to bring you toys and make you laugh. You think she is pretty funny. Seeing you two together makes your dad and I so happy and proud.

You are one of the chubbiest babies I've ever seen. Your rolls go on for days. You couldn't be any cuter.

Our only setback this month was in the sleep department. What gives? My wonderful 8pm-7am sleeper now wakes up one or two times in the night. Your parents need their sleep so it would be great if we could get back to snoozing through the night. PLEASE!
