After an article in Seattle Mag about living walls I became OBSESSED with having one of my very own. Found this little guy on etsy and couldn't be more thrilled with it on my kitchen wall. Next up is a large scale one John is going to build in the backyard - we're pretty into succulents in this house.

We struggled with what to put on the wall in the dining area so it sat empty for about a year. John kept talking about doing something with an old door he had in the garage, but I kept putting it off because I thought sounded weird. He finally talked me into trying it out and after some fiddling with it, I think the end result is pretty funky and fun.

He cut the panels out of the door then I painted the wall behind it and added the candle holders I found at goodwill. I'm still trying to find the right candles for the outside panels and John's still trying to figure out how not to knock into it every time he walks by.
And I got the quote wall I always wanted. Too much time spent on pinterest finally inspired me to make this bad boy happen. I'll add a couple more and switch quotes out when I get bored with them. To start, we have sayings from Gone with the Wind, Juno (what Adam used in his speech at our wedding), and how I met your mother (thank you, B. Stinson), along with our very own set of family rules that will grow and change with our family. It makes me smile every morning.

I love all of the creative new art, but I especially love your quote wall! What a great idea!
